Vacation 2012

For the last 2 years we have gone to Branson for our family vacation. It is just far enough away that the kids don't get too anxious in the car. So we didn't mess with what works and packed up the car and headed back to Branson again this year. My parents and my sister picked up Ty from daycare and left a few hours before we did. After I got off work, I came home to clean up the house(you can never leave for a trip with a dirty house) and pack up the car. Once Josh got home I went to get Max from daycare on we were on our way to a weekend in the wilderness.
Max was a wonderful little rider. He started off with a nap and finished the trip sleeping too. We arrived at Big Cedar around 10pm. Needless to say, it took awhile to get everyone sleeping. Except Max who remained sleeping untill 5am.

So, of course I never took any pictures of our condo or the resort for that matter. If there isn't one of my kids in a picture then I got if off Big Cedar's website.

Grandma made breakfast the next moring and then we started getting everyone ready for the pool. I was so excited because there is a great kiddie pool that has water fountains that squirt into the water. I knew Ty would love this.

Look up, Ty!

So excited to go swimming!

Ty was already on second pair of trunks since he peed through his first pair
Once we got to the pool, Ty wasn't not interested in the kiddie pool and by not interested I mean...a death grip on me. So we all went into the big pool together.

I think someone really enjoyed this!

Love this!
Everyone enjoyed the water! This pool was the closest to where we stayed but we also enjoyed going to the pool by the lodge. There was a lazy river and a water slide and another kiddie pool.

I don't have any pictures of the lazy river or water slide but they were great! We spent hours of our vacation on the lazy river. Ty didn't enjoy the water slide so much and that was fine. He just had to watch me go down it over and over. :)

On Sunday, we went swimming again and then went back to rest and get cleaned up for the BBQ. The resort hosted a great party. There was yummy BBQ, good entainment, awesome weather, and tons of open space for the kids to run around. The night ended with the best fireworks I have ever watched.

Our attempt at a family picture was a big fail. These two are the best I could find.

Once it started to get dark we made our way to a different grassy spot and got ready to watch some fireworks. Ty was still less than thrilled with the noise from the fireworks, so Aunt Amanda distracted him with her camera. Ty helped take some pictures of the great display. As for Max...well let me just tell you that fireworks + Max + some fresh sun for mom = a painful night.

The rest of our time was spent swimming, eating, and shopping. Not much sleep was had by anyone on this vacation. Max had two teeth pop through while we were there and he wasn't happy about it. My boys do very well with a schedule and that doesn't work when you're not at home.

What a helpful big bro

Ty loved this big fish!

We loved going to Big Cedar and are looking forward to going back next year. By then Max won't be teething and hopefully everyone will have a more rested vacation.  It was so nice not having to load the boys in and out of the cars the entire time. There is a great shuttle service at BC and we used it often. I would totally recommend this resort to anyone. Kids or no kids it would be a great time!

Max @ 7 months

You are everywhere! An army crawlin' fool. I can't leave a room without you following me. I love watching you attack your brother now and Ty loves it too. We all started hearing Ty say "Stop it, Max" much more this past month, lol.
You have become quite the chatter box these last few weeks. "Dada" is by far your favorite thing to say and Mom is handling that just fine. I just keep telling your Dad that you want him and I don't need to go get you.
I am still in aww of your beautiful blue eyes. You are such a pretty baby, in fact we still have people that think you are a girl because they say you are "too pretty" to be a boy. I am not sure how I should take that but I smile and say Thanks. HaHa!
No teeth yet but I think if I had the proper tools I could pull them right through. I can see the white tops on your two bottom teeth.  Of course, this is making you a bit crabby and you aren't a big fan of the taste of medicine. So that leaves me to trick you and put tylenol in the last 2 ounces of your bottle. I gotta do what I gotta do!
As for eatting goes, it's still your favorite thing to do. Your bottle is your comfort. I am a little concerned how hard it will be to take that away from you. The sippy cup is becoming more familiar to you but you mostly just like to chew on the spout. I still have you eatting stage 2 baby food since I haven't ventured into the meats yet. That will be next month. It is a total mental thing for me...ground up meat... *barf*
I love how much of a snuggle bug you have become lately. I am sure it is related to the teeth thing but when you lay your sweet little head on my shoulder, my heart skips a beat.

Max @ 6 months

Whew! I am so excited to reach this milestone with you, Max! I felt like as we approached the 6 month mark things got so much easier. You want to play with your brother so bad and it is finally possible. You are a sitting fool! I love watching you reach for things and then just pop back into a sitting postition like its no problem. Nothing is safe around you anymore...you are a very determined little guy and will make your way to whatever you have your eye on.
No teeth yet, but please Lord don't make this teething thing last forever! We had some rough all-nighters this past month and the only thing that finally work was some oragel and your carseat.<--- which you are almost too big for. I am thinking we will be buying new carseats by your 7 month birthday.
Boy, do you love food! We are on the stage 2 baby food and you can gobble down a container in no time. At this point I would say peas are your least favorite and bananas are the favorite by a long shot. You eat food 3 times a day, most days. You are no longer taking ZanZac and everything seems to be going great.
I couldn't take it anymore and decided to cut the top part of your hair. "Aunt" Becky held you while Mommy trimmed you up and you did great! I didn't cut much off but I decided there was no reason for you to have silly hair on the top of you head :)

Other thing that happened this past month:
-You celebrated your first Easter. Your big bro was nice enough to hunt your eggs for you this year.
-You sat in a highchair at a resturant for the first time. Mom forgot how gross those things were!

And here are a few more pictures in honor of your 1/2 birthday!

Your eyes are still blue and beautiful!
Your smile melts my heart...

"Enough of the pictures Mom!"
"I'm gonna get you!"
