I really enjoyed this time we shared with us 3. Emry latched on instantly and we had a chance to enjoy this precious gift. My nurse, who I thought was awesome, decided to unhook me from some of the machines before the boys got there. I ordered some lunch and we just chilled.
Ange was the first to arrive. Mark didn't come up to the hospital because he was dealing with a cold. Once she got there he called to see how everyone was and of course wanted to know the name. We decided early on that the boys were going to be the first to know their sister's name and then they could tell everyone. So, Grandpa had to wait a little longer.
Here is Grandma Angie with her first granddaughter, finally. It wasn't much longer after she was there that the rest arrived. When Max walked in he said to Ange " Hey, whose baby is that?"

Look at those big brothers! I told Ty the name so he could share with the grandparents. Then
everyone took turns holding Emry Rose, taking pictures, making phone calls and sending texts. I didn't end up with any pics of my mom or myself that day.
Proud big brothers!

After everyone got a chance to hold Emry we got all packed up to move to the next room. They all left to watch little Miss get her first bath and the boys got to ring the bell that tells everyone in the hospital that their sister has arrived. I got to take a shower and then met them in the new room. Emry was in the nursery getting all checked out and we were getting comfortable in our room. I decided I should probably use the bathroom, so the whole crew left to go see what Emry was up to. When the nurse got in my room we discovered that I was having a bit of a complication. I had started
hemorrhaging. In no time at all I had a room full of nurses and each one brought in a piece of equipment. They began doing what they could to control and stop the bleeding and my doctor was called back to the hospital. A scale was brought in to weigh the sheets and my clothes and my doctor did an ultrasound to see what was causing this problem. It was discovered that part of my placenta was still intact and would most likely not pass on its own.
All my family had been standing in the hallway watching everyone run in and out of my room without knowing what was going on. I asked if Josh could come in while they continued to clean everything up. He had already talked to Dr. Mathus and knew a d&c was scheduled at 4pm.
I told everyone to go home since I had no idea what was instore for the rest of the night. Josh waited in my room and his sister, Bridgett, and her boyfriend, Josh, came up to see Emry.
The surgery went well, however I had a hard time in recovery and didn't get back to the room until after 9pm. A wonderful nurse found me some supper since the kitchen was closed. And I requested to spend sometime with my girl.
I hadn't seen her since her bath and was ready to get out her hair accessories. This was her debut photo!
I stayed up and cuddled with her before it was time for her to go to the nursery. I was very much in need of rest. It was a very exhausting 24 hours but it all end up well and our family was complete.
These are photos from the remainder of our hospital stay.
